JROTC (Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) program is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline. Also, students will learn personal finance, health and fitness The focus is reflected in the mission statement, “To motivate young people to be better citizens.” Instructors are retired military personnel. JROTC is not a recruitment program for the military. Participation in JROTC incurs no military obligation. Many scholarship opportunities are available for JROTC students entering college directly after high school.
