Health Occupations is a ONE-year program, which offers an introduction and orientation to health careers. This program utilizes knowledge, skill and professional conduct to explore various careers available in the health field. This course provides the student with the opportunity to develop leadership skills, therapeutic communication, in-depth understanding and the ability to communicate using medical terminology, basic patient care skills, problem solving and a successful work ethic necessary to become a health service assistant.†Students will be required to participate in clinical rotations with the emphasis on job placement. The clinical rotations will be through diversified health care areas, including laboratory, pharmacy, emergency room, labor and deliver, radiology, physical/occupational/speech therapy, acute care hospital, long term care facilities, dental and veterinary clinics.
