Scott Tech Recognizes Students

Scott Tech students received scholarships and awards at the 21th Annual Recognition Nights held May 2nd and May 4th at Scott Regional Technology Center.  Fifty-three students received Passport Portfolios.  To meet the requirements for this honor, a student must complete one of the fourteen programs and maintain a “B” average both years while missing no more than six days in attendance per school year during the course of the program.
Seniors recently completed the National Career Readiness Test.  Seven received a Gold classification; ninety-five, Silver; and forty-one, Bronze.  These credentials will prepare students for the workforce.
Special scholarships were issued in addition to the awards and honors received in each program:
The Cassville Cruisers presented a $300 scholarship each to Kyler Gray, an Auto Technology student, and Shelby Taylor, currently completing Welding Technology.
Steve Ratliff from the University of Northwestern Ohio presented a SkillsUSA scholarship in the amount of $1000 to Tyler Groves from Billings High School.
Health Occupations student Ashely Bryand from Monett received the scholarship from Community Blood Center of the Ozarks along with Araseli Avila and Hallie Henderson, who received the Cox-Monett Hospital Clinical Excellence Littman stethoscopes.  Recipients of the Child Development Associate Scholarship were Sabrina Estes and Dominique Christy.

Jessica Terry, an Auto Collision student from Cassville, received the Breaking Traditions Spirit Award.  Carlee McChesney and Jordi Garcia received the Region VIII Breaking Traditions non-traditional student award.
Sierra Keener, Welding Technology Student of the Year from Crane, received a $1500 scholarship to the Missouri Welding Institute, an ACDC Lincoln 225 welding machine, and a bag full of welding gear from Lincoln Electric.
